K-8 Literacy Instructional Coach
When I’m at Hospers Elementary, I’m “Mrs. T.G.” When I”m at the Middle School, I’m “The OTHER Mrs. T.G.” I’m married to Scott and we have two adult children, Natalie and Kyle, who are both MOC-Floyd Valley graduates. I grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from what is now the “Washington Pavilion” building in 1988. I then went on to Northwestern College and earned my bachelor’s degree in 1993 in Elementary Education with a Reading Endorsement. I completed my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Dordt in 2007. I taught 2nd grade for 12 years and 5th grade for 8 years before changing roles to become the K-8 Literacy Coach in 2015. I enjoy leading summer workshops for teachers, online graduate classes for NWC, and presenting sessions for both literacy and technology conferences. My husband and I are big fans of Dutch athletics and enjoy attending Red Raider basketball games as well. If we are not at home, chances are we are at “the game” wherever the Dutch or Raiders may be playing.
