My name is Mrs. Aalbers. I grew up in Orange City and attended Orange City Elementary as a child. I graduated from Northwestern College in 2008 with a degree in Elementary Education and minors in coaching and reading. I received my Masters of Education from Morningside in 2012. I currently live in Alton with my husband Brent, and three sons: Ryder, Wyatt, and Jarrett.

My name is Mariah Bilby. I grew up in Cherokee, Iowa with my parents and one younger brother. After graduating high school, I came here to Northwestern College and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and endorsements in Reading and Special Education. I taught first grade for three years before moving here. I live here in Orange City with my husband Micah. In my free time you might find me hanging out with my family, playing board games, singing, or reading a good book. I am so excited for my new adventure here at Orange City Elementary!

I graduated from Oostburg High School in Oostburg, Wisconsin before moving to northwest Iowa where I attended Northwestern College. In 2002 I graduated from NWC majoring in Elementary Education with endorsements in reading and special education. In 2014 I graduated from Morningside College with a Masters of Arts in Teaching degree. I had the privilege of being a substitute teacher for MOC-FV for two years before earning my position at Hospers Elementary in 2004. In 2010 I began teaching 4th grade at Orange City Elementary. Currently, I am a special education teacher in the Resource Room.

My husband, Joel, is a sixth grade teacher at Alton Middle School. We live in Orange City with our three children: Becca, Andrew, and Greta. We love spending our free time together as a family attending sporting events, taking trips to Wisconsin, shopping, biking, baking, and reading.

I graduated from Northwestern college in 2012 and also began coaching at MOC-FV the same year. I am married to Justin Boersma and we have three sons Juddson, Kolton, and Brayton. We live on a farm outside of Hospers. I love being involved in our volleyball programs in and out of season and spending time with my family.

I received a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern College with early childhood, reading, and coaching endorsements. I also completed my master’s degree in early childhood through the University of South Dakota. My husband, Daron, is a chiropractor in Orange City and we have a son, Aden, and a daughter, Ava. Outside of school I enjoy cooking, baking, traveling, photography, shopping, music, and spending time with family and friends.

I graduated from Northwestern College in 2005 with my degree in Elementary Education and a Reading Endorsement. I have taught 3rd grade and Title Reading before becoming the 5th grade reading and writing teacher her at OCE. I live in Orange City with my wife, Megan, and four kids. I enjoy riding motorcycle, working with my hands, being active with the family, reading a good book, and working at my church.

I earned my Bachelor of Music degree at Iowa State University and my Master of Music degree from the University of South Dakota. I have been teaching music at OCE for more than 3 decades!

I have five married children, four grandchildren and two Cocker Spaniels, Red & Gina. Besides singing and playing games with kids, I love to sew and spend time with family.

I graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA with a Instrumental and Vocal Music Education Degree. I previously taught K-8 and then 5-8 General Music, Band and Choir at the Hull Christian School in Hull, IA. I have been teaching part time 5th grade instrumental music at MOC Floyd Valley CSD since the fall of 1992. I am married and have 3 adult children.

Hi! I am Renee Guthmiller. I have been teaching for 35 years. I have 10 years with 5th and 6th grade and 25 with 2nd grade. I hope to be in 2nd grade for awhile still! I am a graduate of Northwestern College. I cheer on the Dutch, the Raiders, and the Vikings!

I was born and raised in Eastern Iowa near the Mississippi river. I attended and received my degree from the University of Dubuque. My husband, Eric, and I live in Alton with our 4 children- Makenna, Kolten, Cooper, and Landyn. We enjoy spending time outdoors, attending sporting events, and being with our extended families.

After growing up in Nebraska, I graduated from Northwestern College in 2013 with a degree in both Elementary Education and Music. I met Matt singing in choir at NWC, and we both feel blessed to be living, teaching, and raising our two kids, Iris and Asa, in Orange City. When not at school, you might find me singing at church, walking around town, or cheering on our marching and jazz bands!

I’ve been married to Keith, my best friend, for 5 years. Together, we have 5 children (Kolby, Kenadi, Kooper, Kipp, Kasee) a daughter-in-law (Brooke), and 2 grandchildren (Rheya and Roman). I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa and earned my Master’s through Graceland University. My teaching career started in special education in Chariton, IA, then I moved to Indianola, IA where I taught Special Education and 6th gr. Language Arts, and for the past 5 years I taught in the Education Department at Northwestern College. I am very excited and honored to be a part of the MOC-FV family! Special education and teaching are passions of mine. I also love being outside, watching sporting events, being crafty, playing board or card games, helping others, and most of all, being a mom and a Gigi. Go Dutch!!

I received my undergraduate degree from St. Cloud State University & my graduate degree from University of Wisconsin – River Falls. My husband & I live on a farm by George, IA. We have two children. My hobbies include traveling, taking classes with family & friends (e.g. cupcake decorating), and gardening.

My wife Nancy and I have three children. Our oldest Josh is the athletic director at Cherokee Schools, our other son Zach lives in Topeka Kansas with his wife Trisha and is employed by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation as a DNA specialist and our daughter Katie is a K-6 PE teacher and coach in the Belmond-Klemme school district. Nancy and I have 2 fox red labs to keep us company.

I am the Title 1 reading teacher for our area parochial schools (OCCS and Spalding Catholic). I graduated from SDSU in Brookings, SD and earned my K-8 Reading Endorsement through Morningside College. My husband, Nick, and I live on a farm outside of Granville with our three daughters, Nora, Blaire, and Sawyer. I love spending time outside and getting to Okoboji during our summer weekends!

My name is Marissa Maassen and I am a second grade teacher at Orange City Elementary. I absolutely love my job and couldn’t imagine doing anything else!! I grew up near Hull, Iowa where I loved playing volleyball, basketball, and softball. I am married to Aaron Maassen, and we live on an acreage 1 mile east of Maurice. My husband is part owner of Maassen Dairy near Maurice. We have four children who keep us very busy! Their names are Seth, Aric, Peyton, and Mariah. They are all in school, and we enjoy going to all of their activities. Some of my hobbies are reading, riding bike, and doing things with my family.

I graduated from Northwestern in 2012 with a B.A degree in Spanish and Psychology. I received my M.A in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2015 from USD. I worked with Creative Living Center for four years as a therapist. During that time I also became a Registered Play Therapist. I love working with kids and providing them a space where they feel safe and can express themselves. When not at work, I enjoy spending time outside with my husband, our kids, and our two dogs.

This is my 8th year of teaching but 4th at MOC-Floyd Valley. I previously taught TK at MOC-FV and have also taught Kindergarten and 1st grade in Sioux Center. I grew up in Sioux Center, Iowa and attended Northwestern College. I have lived in North Carolina, Alton, and now outside of Ireton on an acreage. My husband, Jeff, is a mechanic for AgriVision. We have two dogs, Remington and Groot. Outside of school I enjoy shopping, cooking, boating, and spending time with family & friends.

I have a BA from Northwestern College and am married to Rob. We have 3 boys and 1 grandson. I love my pets and I have 4 dogs and 2 cats.

I live with my husband Mike and two children, Brayden and Mikayla, in Hospers. As a family we enjoy showing cows and goats at many fairs, mini-rod tractor pulling and fishing. In my free time I like to read, decorate and do flower gardening.

My love for kids, teaching, nursing, and school supplies gets all thrown together for the best job ever (in my opinion). I am a previous graduate of MOC-FV schools and attended NWC Nursing school to receive my RN, BSN. I’ve spent my nursing career in the ICU, public health, and our community hospital before becoming the school nurse for MOC-FV in 2015. My husband and best friend, Drew Nonnemacher, teaches 6th grade social studies at MOC-FV Middle School. Together we have four boys Jacoby, Elias, Beckett and Nikolas. We love the DUTCH and you will catch our family at multiple sports games including our FAVORITE, Dutchmen Baseball.

I graduated from Northwestern College with a BA in Elementary Education along with an Early Childhood and a Coaching Endorsement. I also have an MA (Incorporating the Fine Arts and Multiple Intelligences Within Instruction) from Lesley University. I am blessed to be the mother of two beautiful and talented daughters who teach me to be a better person on a daily basis! I love spending time with family/friends, as well as exercising, watching sports, reading, writing poetry and baking.

After graduating from Northwestern in 2000, I went overseas to work and live for a couple years. After moving back to Orange City I began working for MOC-FV in 2007. During that time I have received my masters in Education from Morningside College as well as my Masters in School Counseling from Buena Vista.
In my spare time I enjoy camp fires, stargazing, walks, and road trips.

I received my BA from Northwestern College and my MA from Morningside College. I’ve been an educator for 27 years, and I’m currently the MTSS Literacy Instructional Coach for both elementary buildings. I’m married to Mr. Puttmann (4th grade), and we have two children. Kaylee (Netten) and her husband, Caleb, live in La Vista, Nebraska, and Kyle is a senior at Iowa State. I love spending time with my family, my dogs, and cheering on the Cyclones.

I received my BA from Northwestern College (1994) and my MA from Southwest Minnesota University (2005). I’ve taught 5th grade for my first 19 years and now I am currently teaching 4th grade. I’m married to Mrs. Puttmann (Literacy Instructional Coach), and we have two children. Kaylee Netten who is married and living in Omaha, and Kyle is a senior at Iowa State.

I graduated from Northwestern College with my BA in Elementary Education in 2003. I have taught preschool at Ireton Christian School, and now Kindergarten here at Orange City Elementary. I graduated with my MA in Teacher Leadership from Southwest Minnesota State University, in 2018. My husband Andy, my daughter Josey, and I reside in Alton and we love to cheer for the Minnesota Vikings.

I received my BA in English with a Secondary Teaching Certificate from Northwestern College and attended Morningside College for my MA in Teaching with an ESL endorsement. My husband and I are from California. We have five children, Shannon, Caitlin, Sylvia, Arleen, and Aaron. I enjoy hockey games, walking our dog, cooking, traveling, and word searches.

I received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Dakota State University in Madison, SD, and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership degree from Southwest State University in Marshall, MN. I am married to Teresa, and we have four daughters (Noelle, Natalie, Natasha, & Nevaeh). I officiate football games in the fall and umpire baseball games in the summer. I can also be found cheering on the Minnesota Vikings (Skol Vikings), Minnesota Twins (Win Twins), and the Kansas Jayhawks (Rock Chalk Jayhawk).

I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with an Early Childhood and Elementary Education degree. My husband Ken and I have been married for 27 years and have 4 great children: Ashley, Kaylee, Cody and Anthony. We live on the Schmit century farm outside of Hospers. Family time, baking and time on the lake are a few of my favorite things!

I continued my education by earning a Masters Degree from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. My husband and I have 4 sons. I enjoy baking, shopping, and being with my family.

I graduated from Northwestern College and received my Master’s degree from Southwest Minnesota State University. My wife’s name is Diane, and we have two boys, Justin and Eli. In my spare time I am usually supporting our local teams or watching baseball. Go Cubs!

I have enjoyed being the building secretary at OCE for over 20 years. I started when my youngest was in pre-school, now I am blessed to greet my granddaughter each day! I live in Orange City with my husband, Galen and we have 3 married children and 3 beautiful grandchildren.

Hello! My name is Jen Van Wyk, and I grew up in Webster City. I received my Bachelors Degree in Education (Reading, Spanish, and Coaching Endorsements) from Central College in 2010, and I completed my Masters Degree through Northwestern College in 2016. I have been married to my husband, Korey, for eight years and we have a daughter, Elliana. We enjoy traveling as a family together. When I’m not teaching, you can find me reading, crafting, or singing.
